Back in Europe

Once again I am back in Europe...once again all alone...but this time waiting for my family to join...The long dutch journey was eventfull one...I learned a lot..and there is still much to learn from europeans and most of seniors around in office. And the swiss nature though haven't explored much is very beautifull...I hope this time..I learn much from this culture and take back home something that helps me start something rather than cribbing about systems in India.

Visas

Last 2 months...I have got my passport stamped twice..once for Schengen visa and now for UK visa...the first one has even expired now...and expecting the second one will also only eat away few pages of my passport..without serving any purpose....

Wish to go to europe again !!

Professional Blogging

Last 6 months, I have been asked by my organization to blog at thier corporate website..Though it has been an honour to be among select group of employees who can blog directly at organization employing more than 100 thousand employees....
But somehow, I never was able to convince myself to even write a first blog at corporate site..as my own definition and objective of blogging were not aligned with what I thought my organization would want me to write about...But having seen the process for 6 months, I am quite convince about the freedom they provide and would like to share my thoughts in that forum also..and would write very soon about corporate performance management..the area..or the SAP products in this domain....more in next post.

Reviwal

Its time to revieve my blog post and clear the confusion created by the old ones..

Life seems to have taken many twists in last few years..from the time I started writing these blogs...being escatic in Netherlands to lowest times in pune...to boring last year..till I got married this year...back again to happy times...

When we are litle sad..we thing so much about what to do and not to do..and when we are too happy have difficulty to work on the same goals...its irony...we loose our focus when we can do things with greatest ease..

In last one year..I travelled to Andaman, Ladakh and Srinigar...
Though its very late to share travel experience but for memoir its surely isn't too late..

Two Thousand Eight

This was not an year for me, it was a Hurricane that changed everything for me....

Like a Hurricane, it left me devastated...With only hope that some are alive to see another day. Somany intense moments of suffering happened that I have lost my smile forever. My suffering was one of seeing my most loved sister go through intense pain everyday....Feeling weakest and carrying my soaking throat all along to belive things will change...

From Dec 10th to August 28th, some part in me has cried everyday...

And everyday thereafter the name of my sis evokes the same tears in my throat..

Also I shared my heart, in hope of some heal and broke it all to pieces...

Now everything left is changed...only few friends to care...and memories..

The Secret

Much has been talked about the concept of the Secret...But when I really think seriously about it...its not that easy...monitoring your thoughts and feeling all day long..and focussing on something you really want itself is not very easy....much like in board exams we want to get the highest marks but don't want to think about the exams.....creating a visual and mental reality for longer durations of time is as difficult as creating structural things in real world....

It creates stress as your mind always tries to create coherent view of reality....so dreaming with conviction is a lovely and not so easy thing to do.

Back to Roots

In another 35 days, I will be back home again...never thought these days will be so hard for me...

Before going back, its time to thank the people which made me believe in myself...always appreciating and helping in every way possible....a big thanks to everyone in Nederlands.

Back home time and life is slipping away from me....so much needs to be done and in so short time...building even from here is not easy....everytime the challenge thrown to me gets larger....and even maintaining the same spirits seems a collosal task.....unfortunatly having no choice....I keep fighting..!! and enjoying the fight !!!

Sometimes

Sometimes, few events change everything about you....Your perspectives, hopes, visions, feelings, emotions, values, outlook, duties and love for life...All change..in a snap.......And before you being aware of this change...you are transformed...
And sometimes after being through so much pain and happiness...You fail to see them as diffrent sides of same coin....but as a vast continuum of simultaneously existing experiences......Whatever happiness or sadness comes next does not matter as all your existense is experienced in every moment by you...and then you are more relaxed than anyone else in all the choas...and at peace with self...

My Lappy on Linux

Yesterday, I installed Linux Open Source OS on my own laptop...And really I am much delighted to see the practical merits of Opensource....It wonderfull to kick Microsoft's Ass by not paying 300 odd Euro and installing a wonderfull OS with diffrent servers and office utilities for free....And also not having the guilt feeling of using pirated software....
The looks are amazing and so is the ease of installation....:-) Just connect to internet and insert a DVD....further how to install gtalk, ymessenger and other utilities are detailed on web.

Right now this friend yours is most likely to be listening to some good authentic radio on net....with Ads but not with pirated music...

And post installation..it gives me opportunity to feel good about my engineering - management background.....scaling shell scripts at one end to understanding strategic management and finance consolidation on other.

To Every Mind - Favourite Poem

But to every mind there openeth,
A way, and way, and away,
A high soul climbs the highway,
And the low soul gropes the low,
And in between on the misty flats,
The rest drift to and fro.

But to every man there openeth,
A high way and a low,
And every mind decideth,
The way his soul shall go.

One ship sails East,
And another West,
By the self-same winds that blow,
'Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales,
That tells the way we go.

Like the winds of the sea
Are the waves of time,
As we journey along through life,
'Tis the set of the soul,
That determines the goal,
And not the calm or the strife.

Dutch Spirit

August marked completion of my one year stay in Dutchland....
And I call myself very lucky to be here, as it brought wonderfull opportunities to learn from a second culture very diffrent from my own......
My most valued learning - To enjoy my time whatever I am doing or wherever I am....
And situations where I dislike things, need to finish them first and fast..so I have more time to do things I really cherish...

Looking forward to my return back home..!!!!

Assumption of Independence day for BCS.

15 of August has always been special to me in more than one ways.......As this was the day my father met my mother the first time and later married on 26 of Jan...isnt that very patriotic....well he was in Indian Army that time..
And this 15th in Eindhoven we were celebrating our Independence day by having our group Bhelpuri feast in my room lit in tricolor effect created by placing saffron and green glass covers on 2 of there overhead focuslights. Also earlier during the day in office we celebrated Assumption day and announcement of business go live of BCS, my first implementation project. Though I am not rightfull in taking credit for this go live as I joined quite later in this project..Still its great feeling...as if seeing your own baby walk for first time...!!!

My Town

Somethings in life you can call your own..and truely own them as part of your existence..One such thing that formed and shaped my self is my hometown....

A very short visit for one weekend kind of gave me a window in time to jump in my past...
Looking back, it seems amazing as so many things happened over years and somehow everything now falls in place...to orchestrate my own music of memories...

As its the place where I was born, where I cried laughed and lived thourgh all my fears, where my father and grandfather lived and died...Its bylanes where I grew with so many open questions in mind that remained unanswered for long...Its streets where I spent my childhood and roamed in my early youth having lost my own direction and following everyones advice....Its school and classes where I struggled, some teachers that punished and some that encouraged me. Its places I frequented to communicate with my lord, to worship him, take oaths and at times escape from everyone to find my own peace...

This is the place where my young lonely mother worked hard to bring me up...the place where my grandfather stood as pillar of strength in forming my character and never letting me worry much about my family or future....This place where few good men kept my hopes alive for better days ahead...and few bad people that always reminded me of what I should never be with others....

The place where at times the Sun was too harsh or it was too cold and lonely out there...and inbetween the journey there were few lush big green trees....Helping every one on their journey....and inspring the ones like me....to shed their thorns...And now looking back, I can only thank and acknowledge the importance of small good happenings and few good men that are so important to me now and will remain ever.

Shantaram

Last week I picked up again one of my old favourites book Shantaram. And this time I started reading it from middle....May be in another two weeks, I may finish the novel again..and would be able to write my own comments on why I liked this book...

The book is some odd 900 pages, and with no hook to really make you read the book in entirety.....but I somehow started loving most of the characters for the unique colors that they bring to each others lives....

Putting it briefly, I liked this book because it mesmerizes me how deeply, richly and beautifully one can live his/her experiences in life.....and if I be successful in honouring them with humour....then I would be one happiest mortal in this world....

Puree and Sabji

Today evening at my residence myself, Murali and Shailesh decided to prepare Puree, Aloo ki Sabji and Kheer...
This can be considered one of the rare times when we were preparing such lavish Indian food at home...and that too on weekdays...

Our Chief Chef Murali has already prepared the Sabji and Kheer.....And the task of belaning poorie for everyone was awarded to me....And fortunately though I tried this endeavour for first time, 90 percent of my poories were round and were ballooning in the warm oil....

Thus we had a sumptuous food today, and some odd discussion with Nitin on novels like Shantaram, Fountain Head and other works we had read in our college days.

Now much of my time goes in reading boring SAP material, and it shows in apathy of creative ideas I have in dealing my daily issues.....Hoping to improve soon..:-)
