To Every Mind - Favourite Poem

But to every mind there openeth,
A way, and way, and away,
A high soul climbs the highway,
And the low soul gropes the low,
And in between on the misty flats,
The rest drift to and fro.

But to every man there openeth,
A high way and a low,
And every mind decideth,
The way his soul shall go.

One ship sails East,
And another West,
By the self-same winds that blow,
'Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales,
That tells the way we go.

Like the winds of the sea
Are the waves of time,
As we journey along through life,
'Tis the set of the soul,
That determines the goal,
And not the calm or the strife.

Dutch Spirit

August marked completion of my one year stay in Dutchland....
And I call myself very lucky to be here, as it brought wonderfull opportunities to learn from a second culture very diffrent from my own......
My most valued learning - To enjoy my time whatever I am doing or wherever I am....
And situations where I dislike things, need to finish them first and fast..so I have more time to do things I really cherish...

Looking forward to my return back home..!!!!

Assumption of Independence day for BCS.

15 of August has always been special to me in more than one ways.......As this was the day my father met my mother the first time and later married on 26 of Jan...isnt that very patriotic....well he was in Indian Army that time..
And this 15th in Eindhoven we were celebrating our Independence day by having our group Bhelpuri feast in my room lit in tricolor effect created by placing saffron and green glass covers on 2 of there overhead focuslights. Also earlier during the day in office we celebrated Assumption day and announcement of business go live of BCS, my first implementation project. Though I am not rightfull in taking credit for this go live as I joined quite later in this project..Still its great feeling...as if seeing your own baby walk for first time...!!!

My Town

Somethings in life you can call your own..and truely own them as part of your existence..One such thing that formed and shaped my self is my hometown....

A very short visit for one weekend kind of gave me a window in time to jump in my past...
Looking back, it seems amazing as so many things happened over years and somehow everything now falls in place...to orchestrate my own music of memories...

As its the place where I was born, where I cried laughed and lived thourgh all my fears, where my father and grandfather lived and died...Its bylanes where I grew with so many open questions in mind that remained unanswered for long...Its streets where I spent my childhood and roamed in my early youth having lost my own direction and following everyones advice....Its school and classes where I struggled, some teachers that punished and some that encouraged me. Its places I frequented to communicate with my lord, to worship him, take oaths and at times escape from everyone to find my own peace...

This is the place where my young lonely mother worked hard to bring me up...the place where my grandfather stood as pillar of strength in forming my character and never letting me worry much about my family or future....This place where few good men kept my hopes alive for better days ahead...and few bad people that always reminded me of what I should never be with others....

The place where at times the Sun was too harsh or it was too cold and lonely out there...and inbetween the journey there were few lush big green trees....Helping every one on their journey....and inspring the ones like me....to shed their thorns...And now looking back, I can only thank and acknowledge the importance of small good happenings and few good men that are so important to me now and will remain ever.

Shantaram

Last week I picked up again one of my old favourites book Shantaram. And this time I started reading it from middle....May be in another two weeks, I may finish the novel again..and would be able to write my own comments on why I liked this book...

The book is some odd 900 pages, and with no hook to really make you read the book in entirety.....but I somehow started loving most of the characters for the unique colors that they bring to each others lives....

Putting it briefly, I liked this book because it mesmerizes me how deeply, richly and beautifully one can live his/her experiences in life.....and if I be successful in honouring them with humour....then I would be one happiest mortal in this world....

Puree and Sabji

Today evening at my residence myself, Murali and Shailesh decided to prepare Puree, Aloo ki Sabji and Kheer...
This can be considered one of the rare times when we were preparing such lavish Indian food at home...and that too on weekdays...

Our Chief Chef Murali has already prepared the Sabji and Kheer.....And the task of belaning poorie for everyone was awarded to me....And fortunately though I tried this endeavour for first time, 90 percent of my poories were round and were ballooning in the warm oil....

Thus we had a sumptuous food today, and some odd discussion with Nitin on novels like Shantaram, Fountain Head and other works we had read in our college days.

Now much of my time goes in reading boring SAP material, and it shows in apathy of creative ideas I have in dealing my daily issues.....Hoping to improve soon..:-)

Simple Learning

Today, had a great day in office....I could learn by myself what could have been possible in many days of tiring effort...and the way I did the same was much simpler than I thought possible....All i did was to keep challenging myself in little ways and keep asking questions..and motivating myself till I could find answers..The more simpler the questions the more interesting my learning became...and something a training worth thousands could not teach me...was done by myself..in simpler ways....

I wish, I could find more of such simple ways.....

Business Consolidation System

The first and last thing thats on my mind from professional front is to succeed in learing this system...And still with much of my efforts I have not been able to make little progress...Over the last few months, I have put much at stake. Given much control of my work to others..Only to find some space and time to learn this stuff..

Lets see, if I succeed...or I fail....!!!
